Go Home Dinosaurs! at PAX!

We just got back from PAX, and the show was AWESOME! We had an absolutely amazing time, and I’ll follow up soon with pictures and stories from the show. But first let’s talk GO HOME DINOSAURS! Or better yet, let’s start off with with a video shot by Stephen Totilo, the rock star reporter over at Kotaku that gives voice to all the small indies with awesome games. Take a look and you can see the game in action!

As you can see we’ve been busy – we’ve already got a few levels and the art style locked down, along with most of the core functionality. It’s been a crazy few months! We’re still going hard, and we’ll be adding in tons more content and features over the months to come. So if you live near Boston now is the time to start bugging us about coming in to try it out!

It was incredible seeing so many people playing and enjoying our game. Especially considering how nervous we were about putting it out at the show too early! We had tons of kids mesmerized by dinosaurs, hardcore gamers who were determined to protect their BBQ, and couples who wound up playing together. SO COOL. I can’t wait to post pictures.

And let’s not forget the press! Here’s what other people are saying about the game:

Happy St. Patty’s Day, and Fire Hose Design and Story Video

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! This is one of the best holidays of all holidays – you go out, party, and have a good time. And might we suggest playing Slam Bolt Scrappers when you stumble home? The game even has a beverage mode, my friends! Play with one hand!

Something absolutely incredible that just went up on the PlayStation Blog is an incredible video and interview of the steps we went through at Fire Hose to make Slam Bolt Scrappers. I would get into details but really Rey and Sid made such an amazing video that it just speaks for itself. Watch the video below, and check out the full interview on the PS Blog. It’s really amazing.

Over the next few days we’ll be getting into nuts and bolts details of the design phases we went through making the game, and really dive into what we cut and what made it into the final version. It should be a while ride! N4G will be posting these as well, so it’ll be great to interact with that community of gamers.

New Year, New Website

The island level from our game.

Whoa ho ho! ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED, NEW WEBSITE BABY. With the impending release of Slam Bolt Scrappers we figured it was time to spruce up the old website a bit. Not bad, huh?

Go ahead, poke around a bit and see what’s new. We’ve got a new media page full of videos, screenshots, and artwork. We’ve also got a game page with all sorts of info on Slam Bolt Scrappers that we’ll be updating leading up to release. There’s more info on the Fire Hose development team, and if you’re a big fan then you can go and friend/like us on the facebooks. Oh, and of course now that the site looks so kick ass we’ll have to update on a much more regular basis, how could we not?

What do you think of our new look? Sound off in the comments and let us know!

Big shout out to K. Adam for making our website look so sexy. Thanks dude!

New SBS Teaser Up

WHAT IS THIS? Is it a new teaser with all the awesome juicy bits we are going to be showing off at PAX? I DO BELIEVE IT IS.

This teaser is our first time showing off two of the new co-op campaign levels. The first is the Robot Boss, who is fought high up in the snow covered mountains overlooking Slam Bolt City. The second level is Volcano City, where our heroes battle vicious computer AIs and demon chicken riders above pits of fiery lava. This level has a fun twist but if you want to see what it is you’ll have to come to PAX and play it yourself!

Hop into the comments if you want to talk to us about the new level additions. We’ll have a more detailed write up of the new features after PAX. And of course we hope to see any of you that are planning on going to Seattle this weekend! Remember: SCHWAG!

Oh, and we’re on the Sony PlayStation blog! Nice.
